Internet Radio After
over 30 years Susan continues not only to sing and entertain at her best, but
in recent years she has maintained contact with her legions of fans through the
media of radio. Technology however is moving forward at a rapid pace and most
homes now have at least one computer. This sparked Susan's mind to come up with
an even better way of presenting her radio shows - and in a more personal and
satisfying way. Susan and husband Dennis have built a brand new state of the art
radio studio in their own home in Newry and from 23rd November she will deliver
daily, 2 one hour shows directly from her own web site www.susanmccann.com . The
Country Collection and The Irish Collection. The big advantage with
this is, you can listen to the shows at a time of day that suits you best, and
you can listen again and again - in fact you can listen from almost any country
in the world. In addition a new range of portable internet radio receivers, at
a reasonable price, are already in some of the high street shops and in a very
short space of time car internet radios will be a standard feature. The show will
be sponsored by H & H Music, London www.handhmusic.co.uk
.There are several ways you can contact Susan directly, with your requests

April 09 | Anniversary
of Susan's network Country Collection. Over the past 12 months Susan has presented
her Country Collection 5 nights a week, 2 hours per night - playing the best in
Irish and American Country Music. Presenting a total of 10 hours each week is
probable the greatest amount of Country Music any presenter offers to the airways
in the whole of Ireland. The show has gone from strength to strength and can be
hear form Donegal to Dublin and from Antrim to Cavan, and of course world wide
on the internet. Listenership continues to increase and it is now a prime show
for NMG advertisers. Susan helped launch the careers of numerous Irish singers
like Justin McGurk, John Farry and Anthony McBrien. She has also interviewed
veteran Irish performers like Big Tom, Daniel O'Donnell, Foster & Allen,
Charlie Lansborough, Brendan Quinn, Philomena Begley, Declan Nerney, Mike Denver
and Robert Mizzell. American legends like Billie Joe Spears, Pam Tillis,
Jim Ed Brown, Vernon Oxford & Stonewall Jackson also called into the studio
for a chat with Susan. | |

April 08 | SUSAN
TAKES TO THE AIR Country singing star Susan McCann continues to broaden her
horizons in all directions. Northern Media Group have announced that from 28th
April Susan's Country Collection radio show, which is currently transmitted from
Five Fm in Newry, will also be transmitted simultaneously across a further three
radio stations in the Northern Media Network. This will mean "The Country Collection"
will be heard in most parts of Northern Ireland and some parts of the Irish Republic.
These stations will include Five FM, Six FM, Seven FM and Q101. Susan's Country
show goes out nightly at 7.00pm Monday to Friday and her warm friendly voice as
a radio presenter continues to grow in popularity. Since putting her headphones
on for the first time, just over a year ago Susan has played the very best in
Irish and American Country music and has interviewed many of her colleagues in
the business - to name but a few Daniel O'Donnell, Crystal Gale, Jimmy Buckley,
Mike Denver and Robert Mizzell. When asked, does this mean you will no longer
be doing live gigs? Susan replied, "Not at all - I most certainly will continue
to work, but maybe not on a regular basis. Towards the end of this year for instance
I will be doing an extensive concert tour of Northern Ireland theatres and I will
continue to do odd gigs around Ireland and the UK. I am really enjoying the challenge
with the radio and newspapers - it's hard to believe that just over a year ago
I could hardly use the remote on the TV, now I sit behind state of the art radio
equipment and chat to people live on air with relative ease". Robert Walshe, Chief
Executive and Programme Director of the Northern Media Group said "we are delighted
to have Susan McCann on board - her voice is like a breath of fresh air to the
airwaves and she continues to develop her skills as a broadcaster and journalist,
in a expanding brand of music, in which she has a great depth of knowledge " | |
